CelluliteCellulite is a kind of fat tissue in the subcutaneous layer of the skin that contains constricting bands of connective tissue. Cellulite is that lumpy, rippled skin appearance common to men and women of all sizes and ages, that one can not seem to get rid of. Cellulite is not necessarily a factor of body weight. You don't have to be heavy to have cellulite. Cellulite is alleged to be a special type of "fat gone wrong," a combination of fat, water, and "toxic wastes" that the body has failed to eliminate. Cellulite is actually a fancy name for collections of fat that push against the connective tissue beneath a person's skin, which causes the surface of the skin to dimple or pucker like the surface of an orange peel. It often begins in an area of broken skin, often from a cut, burn, or an insect bite. It is mostly happen on women because women have a higher percentage of body fat, especially in the "problem" areas of thighs and hips. Men, however have low percentage as compare to women. This connective tissue is made up of fibers and acts as an anchor between the muscles and the skin, it also forms the chambers that hold the Scarpus Fascia. The term "cellulite" was coined in 1973 to refer to the dimpled appearance of the skin that some people have on their hips, thighs, and buttocks. Cellulite CauseCellulite can be developed when women are going through stages of hormonal changes such as puberty, pregnancy and menopause. Unhealthy food together with excess consumption of alcohol, caffeine or spicy foods are closely linked to cellulite formation. When a person takes too much of these foods, the body looses its ability to flush the toxins they produce so they are stored in the fatty tissue. Smoking, it is not only bad for the skin and lungs, but it weakens the skin by causing constriction of capillaries. It further damages the connective tissue that causes the dimpling effect of cellulite, too. The poisonous foods and beverages such as alcohol must be avoided for the sake of a healthy body. Especially alcohol is considered a threefold factor in cellulite because it attacks at three basic defenses of the body at once -
Cellulite Symptoms
CelluliteTreatmentTreatment sometimes requires a stay in the hospital. This is common if antibiotics must be given to infected persons, but it is also considered if you have signs of complications such as a high fever. Water, suction, laser, massage and now there is the electric muscle stimulation is also a good treatment. In this type treatment electric currents passing through pads placed on the body cause the muscles to contract and relax alternatively. A good work out no doubt to build the muscles, but to what extent it is good for cellulite is really hard to say. Body Brushing removes dead cells from the surface of the skin, making it easy for toxins to be removed. Women with a relatively low body fat percentage can still retain cellulite fat. However, anecdotal evidence suggests that losing weight while maintaining a vigorous lower-body exercise routine will definitely help, as dancers and runners rarely seem to suffer from cellulite fat. New therapies like the jet therapy, which breaks fat cells with the help of compressed air blown onto the skin through a small filtration system, is yet to gain credibility. Gene therapy works on the principle of an inherited cellulite gene on the x chromosome. cellulite cream can also be used in this treatment. Not all creams are useful. these should be taken to consult a physician. |
